Pint-Sized Illustrated Book

Introduction:
This compact booklet is a culmination of my exploration during my graduation project at the Museum of Goa. Inspired by Dr. Subodh Kerkar's original installation from 2003, this project seeks to reimagine and enhance the portrayal of Goan fishermen's lives through art and design. Over four immersive months, I delved into the multifaceted tapestry of Goan life as an outsider. Beyond the stereotypical perception of Goa as merely a tourist haven, my journey uncovered the intricate interplay of cultures, traditions, and livelihoods. Through a zigzag of experiences, I endeavored to capture the essence of Goan existence, integrating my observations with illustrations and design elements that reflect the vibrancy and diversity of this captivating region.
Process & Design:

The final project journey encompassed meticulous planning and creative design. Grounded in thorough research and intimate interviews, the essence of coastal life was unveiled.

Design played a pivotal role, serving as the guiding force to marry function with aesthetic appeal. Each element, from illustrations to layout, was meticulously curated to resonate with the rhythm of the sea.

Through iterative refinement and dedicated efforts, the vision was brought to life, encapsulating the coastal experience in a manner that invites engagement and reflection for all who encounter it.
